Its history included missions across the United States, Europe and Central America, medical evacuation support and, ultimately, deployment to the Middle East for \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOperations Desert Shield and Desert Storm\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere, just \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003esix Hueys\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e carried an extraordinary responsibility.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAttached in support of the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, the 321st helped provide medical evacuation coverage for more than \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e20,000 troops\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e during the advance into Iraq. Its crews flew frontline extraction missions, often operating well forward in support of the fighting force.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBut this tribute isn’t only for those who sat in the cockpit or flew into harm’s way.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt’s for the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003epilots, crew chiefs, flight medics and support personnel\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e who together made those missions possible.
